My final two Wainwrights: Bessyboot & Castle Crag (Borrowdale) 8.5miles 2500ft

Climbing up beside Big Stanger Gill from the start in the village

of Stonethwaite

Looking back down to Stonethwaite in the Borrowdale valley

Still following the path beside the gill....

....then crossing it but....AAAAAAAHHHHHH
Danny will explain!!!!

Thankfully he survived to see the sunrise over Bull Crag

Shortly after we arrived at the summit cairn of Bessyboot
1908ft....

....time for Danny to get his much deserved brew.

The view looking west over the Base Brown ridge to Fleetwith Pike
and Buttermere fells

We then descended with views to Seatoller
 at the bottom of Honister
pass

After a short drive to Rosthwaite we then climbed the diminutive
but impressive Castle Crag

Arriving at the summit of my FINAL WAINWRIGHT the lowest but
probably the most popular of all the 214 Wainwrights at just a
lowly 951ft

We had some lovely views over the craggy summit down into
Borrowdale....

....and to Derwentwater

A final look back at the steady stream of walkers just visible
climbing the Zig Zags of slate spoil approaching the summit

Footnote:
Michael has climbed all 214 Wainwrights in the Lake District in order to raise money for the Rwanda Group Trust, feeding the poorest of the poor in Rwanda.

If you wish to sponsor him, here is the 'Just Giving' link.
