Hartsop fells - 6.25 miles 2550ft

Heavy rain in Lakeland this morning so, after a delayed start, a short but not too gentle stroll on a circuit of the Hartsop Fells.

The view up Pasture Beck with the circuit starting left to right.

Looking back down the beck towards Hartsop village.

Helvellyn (centre) and Catstye Cam (right) after gaining height
on Gray
Crag.

Hayeswater with High Street on the horizon from the summit ridge of Gray Crag 699m 2293ft.

Windermere comes into view from Threshthwaite Mouth....

....whilst Ullswater is seen in the opposite direction.

The steep climb to Stony Cove Pike....

.... and the dizzy view down from half way up!

The fells on the western leg of the Kentmere Round
from the summit
763m 2503ft.

Now at the summit cairn on Hartsop Dodd
with Ullswater again in
view.

Brothers Water seen whilst descending the grassy ridge.

The winding path down to Hartsop village.

Zooming in on the village.

A final look back to the ridge of Gray Crag, which started the walk.
