Keswick to Bassenthwaite via Great Calva and a couple of 'Cock Ups' 13 miles 2650ft

The Shepherd's memorial on the path above Keswick

The Coledale fells above the village of Braithwaite

A section of the Cumbria Way with the cone shape of Great Calva
just coming into sight top left

Great Calva very much in sight now straight ahead

The rather scruffy summit cairn on Great Calva 690m 2264ft

However, the view south down the central rift of the Lake District
more than compensates

Now heading for the first 'Cock Up' ie. Great Cock Up fell

Looking down on the Trusmadour Gap a major crossing point of paths in the Northern fells

The Trusmadour Gap

The north face of Skiddaw from Great Cock Up

Lunch-time on Great Cock Up looking at Over Water and
Binsey fell

Looking back at Great Cock Up from, you guessed, Little Cock Up

The final descent towards Bassenthwaite village

Unfortunately the pub's still closed due to Covid until next week!
