Welsh Highlands - Day 3 - Snowden Mountain Railway

The engine sheds at Llanberis - the start of the railway to the summit of Snowden (3,560 ft.)
One of a number of locomotives that shunts passengers to the summit.

Going up and up and up!

Hundreds of walkers of all ages were doing it the hard way.

Not heading for a collision.

The scenery is opening up before us.

The final steps up to the trig point on the summit. At this point the mist has come down but not for long.

Sheltering from the strong winds

The mist is beginning to lift

The island of Angelsey and the Llyn peninsula

We're nearly as high as this police helicopter.

Time to go back down.

Back down at Llanberis
