Appleby to Barrow - Day 4 - Mungrisdale to Bassenthwaite village

Following the river Glendermackin into Bannerdale

Blencathra, with a dusting of snow, appears as height is gained.

The wind shelter on Bowscale fell summit (702m 2,303ft) Blencathra still on the horizon

Looking west from the summit to the Skiddaw range......

.... and north-west to the Solway Firth

You are seldom alone on the summits!

Off the tops and lunch by the River Caldew, with no bridge to cross it!

Joining the Cumbria Way long distance walk for a couple of miles....

..... to the remote Skiddaw House YHA
