 Barbon to Sedbergh

via Castle Knott & Calf Top

12miles 2500ft

Setting off from Barbon war memorial having had wreathes laid yesterday on Remembrance Sunday
Starting the ascent from  Barbondale to Castle Knott
Looking down on Barbon beck
Castle Knott summit cairn 1759ft.....
.....with a rather ghoulish adornment!
Continuing along the ridge I could see across to where Bull Pot is found at the top of the valley opposite
Looking west down Barbondale....
.....and again
Now looking ahead to Calf Top
Calf Top summit 2001ft with Dent village just visible
Looking into Dentdale
Lunch time with a distant view of Sedbergh and the Howgill fells
Sedbergh again from Holme Knott
Nearly there
Crossing Sedbergh golf course before....
descending to cross....
The river Rawthey
Entering Sedbergh....
....finishing my walk in the 'dead centre'
Day 3 of my Clapham to Cockermouth walk now completed.
It took a little while for the sun to finally break through today making a welcome change from the recent grey gloom.  A very enjoyable walk with some great views of the Dales
