A Circuit over Crinkle Crags Langdale 9.5miles 3000ft

After parking near the Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel I headed up the Langdale valley with the first 3 'Crinkles' and Shelter Crags free of cloud
Zooming in on Shelter Crags and the Crinkles
Instead of taking the 'Band' ridge I chose the route up Buscoe Syke and Hell Gill
Crossing Buscoe Syke
One of the waterfalls in Hell Gill
Arriving at the ridge between Bowfell and the Crinkle Crags with views to Pike 'O' Bliscoe.....
....Scafell Pike, Broad Crag & Ill Crag....
.....and the Mickledore ridge
Looking down into Mickleden & Langdale from the  climb to the first summit ie Shelter Crags
The Langdale pikes from Shelter Crags summit
Looking back along the ridge to Bowfell from the 4th and highest Crinkle 2818ft
Two paths can be found leaving the summit of the 4th Crinkle. One starts by heading west and is a safe way to descend, the other leads the unwitting down to this, known as the 'Bad Step'!
One further short climb leads to the 5th and final Crinkle with views south to Pike 'o' Blisco & Great Langdale....
....and Harter fell and Walney Island in the mist behind....
Bowfell from Gladstone Knott as I began the descent into Mickleden
The Langdale pikes again
Hell Gill as I looked back to the route I took to the summits earlier this morning
Finally crossing Oxendale beck with just a gentle stroll ahead to the Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel
A great days walking with an enjoyable exploration of Crinkle Crags
