Burnbank fell, Blake fell, Gavel fell and Hen Comb from Loweswater 9.5miles 2650ft
Setting off from Loweswater on a perfectly still and misty morning. |
Looking down on Loweswater from the path to Burnbank Fell |
Loweswater again from near the summit of Burnbank Fell 1580ft |
A short walk in mist up the ridge to the wind shelter on Blake Fell 1878ft |
The cloud rose from the summit to reveal a lovely view to the water of Cogra Moss below |
The cloud continued to rise up out of the valleys |
There was still a little hanging around as I walked on towards Gavel Fell |
From the summit of Gavel Fell I could see last week's ridge walk across Great Borne, Starling Dodd and Red Pike |
I then headed across to Hen Comb on the horizon |
Great Borne from the climb up Hen Comb |
The view north back to Loweswater from the summit of Hen Comb 1661ft |
Looking south from the summit to the Buttermere fells and lake |
Then looking east to Melbreak and the Grasmoor fells |
Starting the descent down the ridge over Little Dodd to Loweswater |
Crossing Mosedale beck |
Finally the Kirkstile Inn at Loweswater in the village ahead |
