A grand day out in perfect walking weather!

Heading out of Keswick to the south side of Bassenthwaite lake

Part of the steep climb through Whinlatter forest to Barf (fell)

Bassenthwaite lake with Skiddaw and the edge of Keswick from the
top of Barf

Derwentwater also from the top

The northwest end of Bassenthwaite with the Solway firth on the
horizon
The next climb ahead, to Lords Seat...

...then on to Broom fell top...

...and finally to Kirk fell top with a view to Crifell on the
Galloway peninsula (Scotland)

The village of High Lorton below, also from Kirk fell

Today's destination - Cockermouth

My path took me along part of the route of the old Keswick to
Cockermouth railway line

Finally in Cockermouth on the footbridge to the memorial gardens
for lunch

Jennings brewery at the confluence of the rivers Derwent and Cocker

Passing time on Main street before a scenic bus ride back to Keswick
