Cautley Spout and The Calf (Howgill fells) 6miles 2000ft ascent

A rather damp start from the Cross Keys Temperance Inn,
now National Trust owned

River Rawthey flowing towards Sedbergh

Heading up the valley towards the waterfalls

Starting the steep climb up the side of the falls

Onwards and Upwards

One of the Andy Goldsworthy OBE sculpture sheepfolds scattered
across Cumbria..... www.sheepfoldscumbria.co.uk/html/info/list.htm

.....a great place of shelter for lunch

The Calf summit trig point 676m 2218ft the highest point in the
Howgill fells, with the most amazing views....honestly Danny!

Descending from 'the mists of time'
or should that be 'the times of mist'

A final look back at the falls -
spot the couple still on the way up.

Almost back at the 'temperance inn'.
No chance of a pint here then!
