Day 3 - Dales High Way - Sedbergh to Ribblehead 13.5miles 2250ft ascent

Looking back at Sedbergh from the climb up the Frostrow fells

Crossing the river Dee as it flows down Dentdale

Arriving at the Dentdale Heritage Museum

I wonder who took this picture! (A selfie?)

The Dent Brewery Tap in the village centre (Their ales come highly recommended!)

They've still  got a bank in Dent - well sort of!

The parish church at lunchtime......

.....and an excellent bench on the main street to partake of it.

A misty Cowgill viaduct from Great Wold

Looking back down Dentdale from a gently rising green bridleway

Nearing Day 3's destination

Gill Force on the side of Whernside

Now 3.30pm and this group were ascending Whernside the highest of the "3 Peaks" (735m) having already done Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Ghent today!

The Settle to Carlisle line just north of the Ribblehead viaduct.

Blea Moor signal box with no activity today as Northern Rail trains are on strike.

The majestic Ribblehead viaduct - with Ingleborough behind shrouded in mist and lying in wait for Day 4.

Refreshments available at Ribblehead - end of Day 3
