Accrington Walk

The start of a walk in the Scaitcliffe area of Accrington

This former mill  lodge now provides a peaceful haven for fishermen

The walk follow the route of a disused rail track. These pillars probably supported the rail track

Passing Baxenden - the home of the famous 'Holland's Pies'

Another view of Baxenden showing the local primary school (right)

The village of Rising Bridge in the distance

It looks like Rising Bridge is about to enter the 'space race'!

A view of Pendle Hill from the moors above Rising Bridge

 Looking back to Baxenden

 Approaching Acrrington

The track through the hamlet of Bedlam (Yes! There really is a place called Bedlam!)

Back in Accrington. The town is famous for its red, Accrington brick. Noted for its hardness.

Many of the local mills were built of Accrington brick
