Kirkby Lonsdale to Barbon via Brownthwaite Pike & Barbon Low Fell 7.5miles 1700ft

No I'm not taking photographs while I'm driving, I was waiting for the M6 to reopen after a serious accident an hour earlier..... over two hours later I passed the accident with just one lane of  the M6 reopened
With a shortened change of plan after the delay I set off from Devil's Bridge here at Kirkby Lonsdale....
....and climbed the 'Radical Steps' to the famous Ruskin's View....
....with Barbon Low fell & Brownthwaite pike on the horizon
Continuing on the riverside walk.....
....and again
I then walked into Kirkby Lonsdale and passed the site of the recent serious fire which tragically took at least one life
Looking back to Kirkby Lonsdale after starting my climb
Looking down a misty Lune valley
The summit cairn of Brownthwaite pike 1433ft
Heading across the summit plateau
Looking back south to Brownthwaite pike from....
......Barbon Low Fell 1434ft
Looking down on the village of Barbon
The view east into Barbondale....
....with Barbon Manor below
These rainbows in the Lune valley were a sign of....
....a downpour of rain & hail as I arrived in the village. There was however still this good view back to Barbon Low Fell as I waited for my lift back to Kirkby Lonsdale
I missed out the first 5 or 6 miles of my intended walk today but nevertheless this was and excellent outing on a couple of fells I'd not visited before
