Hawes End to Rosthwaite via
Cat Bells and Kings How: 8miles 2900ft
No significant snow on the fells & rain forecast for the week ahead. Monday looked as good as it was going to get and apart from one short, sharp shower and strong winds it turned out ok.
Starting the climb up the ridge to Cat Bells with an early view to Keswick & Derwentwater
Looking over Newlands valley to Causey pike
The ridges leading up the Newland's fells
Bassenthwaite lake
The view to Keswick from Cat Bells summit
Maiden Moor the next fell on the ridge but I'm not going that way today....
.....my path down to the valley with my next climb to King's How the dark peak above right of centre
Zooming in on the Abbot's promontory on Derwentwater
Passing through Grange in Borrowdale across the river Derwent
I'm not sure whether this is man-made or a natural shelter here in Troutdale
Looking back down to Grange from near King's How summit....
.....and flooded fields of Manesty at the bottom of Derwentwater
Lunch time just below the summit
Looking back to King's How
The final descent to Rosthwaite
