Fellside farm (Caldbeck) to Bassenthwaite village
via Roughton Gill, Knott fell, Little Calva fell and Dash falls. 10miles 2000ft
Setting off from Fellside farm with a forecast of rain and low
cloud!
There were many lambs in evidence on today's walk
Crossing Dale beck on the way up to Roughton Gill
The steep climb on the upper section of the gill
Looking back down the gill after climbing past the falls
Whilst getting close to Knock fell summit (2329ft) today's highest
point, the clouds descended and the rain came down....
....until I headed down off Little Calva to Dash beck with Dead
Crags on Bakestall across the valley
Now the rain had stopped I had lunch by Dash beck
I then followed the good track down the valley
The track descends alongside the Whitewater Dash waterfalls
Looking back up the valley to the falls with Little Calva rising to
the left
Zooming in on the col between Little Calva and Bakestall
Looking across to Ullock Pike with cloud still rising off Longside
edge
Finally entering the village of Bassenthwaite
