Tan Hill Inn to the Red Lion Inn

Langthwaite village, Arkengarthdale in the Yorkshire dales 'Herriot country'  (BBC, All Creatures Great & Small) 10miles 1000ft

Heading out on to the moors from the highest inn in the British
Isles 1732ft

5 miles of tough moorland walking later and Arkengarthdale just
appears in the distance

Lunch over and a wonderful track is joined leading over hill and
dale

Then the descent into Arkengarthdale

Just one of the many newly born lambs in the dale

The path the joins Arkle beck but what happened to the bridge....

....ah here it is!!!

Fortunately an alternative path was available following the beck

Scar house enjoys a sunny hillside position above the beck

Looking down on Arkle beck

Walking up the drive to St Marys church Langthwaite

Finally arriving at the Red Lion Inn, which I understand is often
frequented in episodes of 'All Creatures Great & Small'
