Lonscale Fell & Skiddaw Little Man, descent via Longside Edge - 10miles 3,000ft

Today's first objective Lonscale fell 715m 2,346ft

Tan Hill Inn to the Red Lion Inn

Langthwaite village, Arkengarthdale in the Yorkshire dales 'Herriot country'  (BBC, All Creatures Great & Small) 10miles 1000ft

 
Heading out on to the moors from the highest inn in the British
Isles 1732ft

5 miles of tough moorland walking later and Arkengarthdale just
appears in the distance

Lunch over and a wonderful track is joined leading over hill and
dale 

Then the descent into Arkengarthdale

Just one of the many newly born lambs in the dale 

The path the joins Arkle beck but what happened to the bridge....

....ah here it is!!!

Fortunately an alternative path was available following the beck

Scar house enjoys a sunny hillside position above the beck

Finally arriving at the Red Lion Inn, which I understand is often
frequented in episodes of 'All Creatures Great & Small'

Scafell via Slight Side from Eskdale - 12miles 3,400ft

'A Glorious 12th' (April) The mountains await so here we go!
