Causey Pike, Scar Crag, Sail, Crag Hill, Wandope and Whiteless Pike. 9.25miles, 3,530ft ascent.

Setting off from Braithwaite village (Keswick)

Causey Pike on the horizon - the first on the ridge

Crossing Stonycroft Gill

Early morning sun just starting to break through

Looking back down the ridge from Causey Pike....

....and the way ahead along the ridge

Looking down from Scar Crag to Coledale Quarry....

....and across Coledale to Hopegill Head

The zig-zag ascent of Sail up ahead....

....and back down the ridge so far

Sail Beck from Sail....

....and the path up Crag Hill with Wandope now in view

Zooming in Wandope from Crag Hill summit

Crag Hill summit trig point the highest point of today
839m (2753ft)

Mountains and deep valleys in every direction

Whiteless Pike now the next and last on the ridge
with Buttermere (
left) and Crummock Water (right)
Crummock Water and Loweswater visible above it

A final look back towards Causey Pike from Whiteless Pike...

...with the impressive Grasmoor to the west

Now descending to Buttermere village

The misty fells to the east with Buttermere below....

....and my bus back disappearing up the valley!
(2hrs for the next one)

Almost down to the village

Now, with time to spare, a visit to St James' church where....

...there is a memorial to Wainwright....

....and if you raise your eyes as suggested, you see Haystacks his
favourite mountain where his ashes are scattered...

....and finally to the bus stop!
