Pillar from Wasdale Head - 8.5miles, 2850 ft ascent

Pillar, our destination stands hidden in the mist above the
Wasdale Head Inn.

Early mist lingering in Wasdale

No lack of precipitation now

Shall we or shall we not take the High Level route to Pillar Rock
and the Shamrock traverse?.....

.....No! Not in these conditions - straight along the ridge to the
summit 892m (2927ft)

Who said descending was easy?

Mosedale still shrouded in mist

Back to the car at the, now busy, Wasdale Head. Thanks to Danny for a very enjoyable day -
Pillar rock awaits our return on a better day.
