Appleby to Barrow - Day 8 - Seathwaite to Kirkby-in-Furness

Looking back at Seathwaite at the start of the day

Leaving the Dunnerdale fells behind.......

.......as the Furness coast comes into view

A very welcome and unexpected picnic table in the middle of a meadow.....

...probably belonging to this farm a little further on

Broughton Park estate bordering Broughton village

Broughton Hall is now a school

Lunch time in the village square

The railway used to come here from Coniston

Looking back at the village

Finally on the marshy Duddon estuary with Black Coombe behind

The west coast Barrow to Carlisle line.....

.... with the arrival of a very timely train

No chance of this unusual footbridge being washed away

End of day 8 at Kirkby in Furness station.....

....with Millom village over the estuary
