'The Road (or footpath) to Wigan Pier (Part 2)

Wigan Pier is actually the 'Tippler' where coal tubs were emptied, usually by women, into the canal barges.

  1. I must be honest, I always thought that "Wigan Pier" was a joke but I now know better! A very interesting set of images, there are some very photogenic buildings and relics of a bygone age that I would love to see & photograph.
