This week's walk is a one off!
Radcliffe Park & Ride to St Mary's aka "The Hidden Gem church", central Manchester, via the Schoenstatt Shrine Kearsley.
My friend and fellow trustee in our little registered charity: The Rwanda Group Trust has been doing a sponsored walk to raise funds for the poorest of the poor in Rwanda through our contacts there, see link below
Mark has been walking 70miles on a pilgrimage walk visiting the 5 Jubilee churches in the Salford diocese. Today's walk which was his Day 6, I joined him for the last leg of that journey. The first few photos are from the first 5 days of his walk
Day 1 St Mary's Brownedge to St Peter's in Stonyhurst college
Day 2 St Peter's church in Stonyhurst college to....
......St Albans church Blackburn
Day 3 & 4 St Mary's church Burnley and on to Rawtenstall....
Day 5 ....he didn't visit any churches but Mark walked on to Radcliffe, Greater Manchester.
Day 6 today's walk
We set off from the Park & Ride in Radcliffe....
....and crossed the river Irwell and on to....
Schoenstatt shrine in Kearsley Mark's 4th Jubilee church.....
....then back to the river and passed this lake in Clifton park
We continued along the river and the saw part of the skyline of Manchester.....
..... and another section
Our path crossed back and forth across the river several times
Nearing the city centre I saw this crane perched on the tower it was building. I wouldn't have fancied being the crane driver in that on a windy day!
We were then soon at Mark's 5th and final Jubilee church, St Mary's "Hidden Gem".....
....and again
Finally we walked on to St Peter's Square and took the tram back to Radcliffe
Every penny of the sponsorship money raised goes direct to our trusted friends in Rwanda who distribute it to the poorest of the poor in their area.
