Clapham & Norber Erratics

Clapham Beck flowing through Clapham village

Snowdrops in January!

The waterfall on Clapham Beck below The Lake

First view of the Norber Plateau on which the glacier left the erratics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glacial_erratic

The Sandstone erratic is left on a pedestal of Limestone, which has been protected from the erosion round about by the erratic

The Limestone is clearly visible under this one

There are hundreds of erratics around the plateau in all sorts of positions

Looking into Crummackdale. The erratics are of the same rock compostion as that at the head of Crummackdale where they started their journey under the glacier at the end of the last ice age.

Looking back at Robin Proctor's Scar behind which is the Norber Plateau
