The Samuel Crompton Trail - part 2

Samuel Crompton was honoured for his work by the erection of this statue, 
paid for by public subscription, in 1862, in Nelson Square, Bolton.

Crompton died in poverty because he never patented his Spinning Mule. This granite slab in Bolton Parish Church graveyard marks his grave.
