Gisburn Forest

The start of walk through Gisburn Forest. Stocks Reservoir in the centre of Gisburn Forest

The car park at the start of the walk

One of the many forest tracks

Bottoms Beck that flows through the forest

 Looking across to Hesbert Hall

 Another part of Bottoms Beck

At first glance, there is nothing unusual about this group of conifer trees. Look more closely and you will see that they are growing from a single trunk of a tree which as fallen (to the left)!

 Hesbert Hall

A young labourer is using his skill to build a dry-stone wall. It takes him a day to build two square metres.

Dalehead Church (St. James, Stocks in Bowland) Note the wind generator providing power for the church.

Arriving back at the car park - a very different scene of Stocks Reservoir!

  1. Another pleasant set of pictures from your area, I have to be honest and say that I didn't know Lancashire was so scenic as this.
